i need help figuring out what i got the serial number on the block tc440d 000001 there is a us pat number also any help would be great thank
-
TC440D means it’s an 81-82 440 LTD motor. I’m confused by the “0000001”, the model identification section says the 82 serial numbers start at 17... http://kawasakitrax.com/82models.htm
-
This is serial # on a prototype 530 Interceptor motor. No pat sticker or any numbers or letters other than the Xserial #. Ribs on cyls and Head are completely different than stock/factory run set of heads and cyls. Everything was marked 530 tho.
-
following up looked on motor i have theses numbers s3-a then tc440d -000001 then a gold stamp us pat.4114586 then on the jug i have 530/2a thats all i can see thank you for your help
-
Welcome to the site!! It is not real uncommon to see 550 jugs on a 440 mono head bottom. Serial number 1 needs some further study.
-
thank you just trying to figure this thing out the 01 is confusing me and thank you
-
Is this motor in a sled? If so, what are the numbers stamped on the right foot area of the tunnel?
-
yes it is the tunnel is scrtched right there but i see ss440a-?c17 or the c could be a 6 thank you for your help
-
Can you buff it up a bit and get a picture of that number to post??
-
ill try plus i wanted to post the pic of all the numbers i have but havent figured out how to post them yet and thank you

picture of serial number on the motor

Take a picture of the primary clutch and complete sled . Definitely a invader chassis cause of tool box and heat shield apparently is metal and homemade cause looks like it’s all rusty. Definitely 550 head in the picture.
-
The bottom end may be the 1st one. :) :D The TC440D covered 81 and 82 LTD motors. The TC530D for the 550 is pretty much the same bottom. I have seen one other 550 stuffed into an Invader chassis and from what I heard it was plenty of farting around to get it to work. It would be a great "sleeper" sled.

thank you for the help now i have to figure out what to do with it
-
getting better at this

Would be nice to know the setup they have in the factory primary used with the Aaen pipes.

Pretty cool to see things like that built awhile back. By the dash if it’s correct for the sled it looks like it’s a 79 or 78 chassis. One thing I noticed is looks like it has coolant hoses coming out over by the exhaust pipes? Did they install something under the tunnel running board to cool it?
-
yes there is a heat exchanger on the right side
-
Hmmm. No heat exchanger under the seat or at least was a hole where there was one from the factory originally?
-
If this sled could talk I wonder what the story would be??
-
Sorry there is one under the seat also
-
i was told it was a proto type sled and i wonder what its first words would be lol
-
The heat exchanger under the seat. Is it a long narrow one or pretty much a square one town the back of the tunnel?
-
its long and narrow under the seat
-
Okie invader chassis for sure. So whatcha gonna do with the sled? You Gonna get it running or part it out?
-
im not sure the main thing was trying to figure out what i have then see what its worth
