I am changing engine seals from 1980 liquifire T7 motor and which has a strange C spacer -see attached pic. there was only one. what is the purpose? This was between one of the guide rings and a bearing.

Zip down to page 65 on the attachment....you will see that it is a shim that came in various thicknesses to adjust the endplay of the crankshaft.

Ah yes, I see. thanks. I can't tell the exact placement? Which side of the bearing the left of the crank.
