Interceptor headed to the Radar Runs... Rangely, Maine
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:06:04 PM »
Anyone in Maine going to the Snodeo Radar Runs in Rangely end of Jan?  Taking an Interceptor for the 660ft.  Looks like I am running in the mod 0-700 class.  Y-i-k-e-s!  All in good fun.

By the way, where did the "Interceptor Gang" go?  Riding I hope.

Stock pipes on this one...

Did you get your 2nd Interceptor finished?  You sold one, but you were working on another, right?

No, #366 is still in pieces.  I'm currently working on a modded 4/6 LTD.  I'm hoping to have it running this week.  #366 is next on my project list...

Good luck at the races!  Let us know how you do, and of course pics and videos are always welcome here.   8)

Hey guys,

Break-in is going very well with over 40 miles completed till now.....looks like jetting was the culprit.....

Snowblowed a small 1000 feet oval racetrack in the field a few weeks ago...having lots of fun right out of my backyard...!

Anyone that "snowblows" an oval racetrack in their field is cool in my book!  Gotta do what ya gotta do.  It is good to know that I am not the only one snowblowing more in my field than my driveway (unless you've got one helluva long driveway).

I am excited to get 593 on radar.  Been playing "alot" with gearing and clutching.  Think I got her dialed in!  Anyone take a guess on MPH in 660'?

Hi Tory,

Tough to say what you'll hit in MPH......depends on many factors like gearing, carb setup, track condition and specially clutch setup.....I've never done the 660 feet so i'll guess between 80 and 85mph ........get back to us with your result..!

Actually running two Interceptors...  one is "stock" and the other has some clutch/carb/gearing changes (running higer compression).  The stock sled ran 74-75ish last year w/a 250 lbs rider.  I only weigh 165 (last time I checked), so I suspect a little faster this year.  Your guess of 80-85 is close to what I was hoping for w/the clutched/gearing sled.  It will be fun/interesting to see the difference between the two.  We have no snow here right now, but the temps are supposed to drop by next week/weekend (radar runs).  Hopefully the conditions are acceptable.  Might be running on glare ice!    Should probably bring a different set of carbides up front (just in case).  I will post pictures and a video soon.

Ran the 660  with both...   the track was not good...  honestly it was a joke.  No traction for the first 75 feet.  Everyone was having a hard time.  I made eight passes between both sleds and I might have hit "low" 70's.  The last two runs were the best and found out they didn't even record my Mph on the last few.  I did talk to quite a few guys and had a few laughs, but it was not a day for traction and speed.  I will be running 1000 ft. in two weeks (glare ice).  Hopefully I can share some better news for the Kawi guys.  FYI I was the only one racing Kawasaki (no surprise).
