Title: Bad Motor in Intruder
Post by: Metalman on October 23, 2012, 09:03:07 AM
I haven't had this started since I bought it. Looks like some engine problems. 80 lbs in left cylinder, 40 lbs in right. No scoring on walls or bad pistons. Friend of mine thinks someone may have tried to clean this up and put stock pistons in, Hard to tell without tearing the whole thing out, Maybe time to find a new motor.  :(Suggestions?

Stuck rings? try some oil in the cylinders and see if it helps.

I got the heads pulled off and found quite a bit of wear on the pistons and rings. The cylinders looked pretty good, no scratches or scoring. Both cylinders measured 67.63 to 67.60 all the way around.
The cylinder with the lowest compression was really clean but had a lot of wear. From what I have been reading on here it shows all the indications of a bad seal on that side.

Time to pull the motor and start rebuilding! ;D
