Greetings folks, I'm hoping somebody with much more experience might have figured this out. I'm wondering what other pipes will interchange (fit) with invaders/intruders. I thought the John Deere Liquifire sleds would fit, but I'm not sure looking at pictures.
Maybe other sled pipes will fit? Has anybody tried?
OR - does anyone have a '80s pipe for Invader/Intruder...the one with the extra expansion tank on the end.
Thank you for the consideration.

A Deere one might fit with some modifications. But I think the later Kawasaki pipes are a better pipe.
I know Kawasaki pipes won't fit in a Deere belly pan, But a Deere one should fit in an Invader pan.

I see there is a NOS one on Ebay...

If I take the pipe from my 81 Invader and put it in my 79 Invader, are there any changes in carb tuning to go with the different pipe design?

1978 and 1979 Invaders...both the 340's and 440's used tuned muffler 39083-3501.
The 1980 Invader (440 only) changed to the improved 39083-3506 muffler, which was also used in the 1981 440 Invader.
The 1980 340 Invader continued to use the original 39083-3501.
The newer 3506 has a bulge on the underside, and was advertised to add 5% more power to the 440...roughly 3 or 3 1/2 HP.
Vader, the jetting for the 440 Invaders remained exactly the same during its 4 year production run, 1978 through 1981, so I'm pretty sure you can interchange the pipes without any worries.

Sounds good, thanks for all the info!

4/6 LTD twin pipes will fit, but performance increase is negligible. Kawasaki made git kit twin pipes, these with porting will make a good improvement. Aaen makes twin pipes for the invader also.

In Quebec, we are not allowed to use aftermarket pipes due to noise regulations. >:( (Only applies to sleds made after 1971)

Asked and answered. Thanks for the quick reply. I found a couple of original pipes nearby home. But, it is always nice to know alternatives as I hope to keep this Invader running smooth for a long time.
