« on: March 01, 2016, 07:06:37 AM »
If there is a Invader still in the crate what ( so far just a rumor ) might that sled be worth??  There would be many factor's to consider.

If this were true I would say what ever someone is willing to pay for it. I think when they were new they ran about $2000 or so???  I would think who ever might have one, could put it up for auction and get some really good money for it. I would love see one. :) :) :) :)

I would think a crated Invader would be in the 10K ballpark.

I believe the snowmobile Hall Of Fame got a number of Kawasakis still in the crate(s) and found that some of them had parts missing.  Once they are out of the crate, the value would drop. And the buyer would have to have a place to keep them.

Personally, I get sleds to ride. If I wanted something to just look at, I'd take a picture. Cheaper and takes up less space.

The Hall Of Fame sleds were test sleds if I remember right?

Yes, they were randomly pulled from the line, and tested, some parts are missing. They were also to be destroyed. They also have DES stenciled on the tunnel. There is one here in Bay City Wisc. I believe the archives on Vintagesleds still has the story.

One of them made it's way out to Maine. I think Tori owns it. I would still take one if only to show. Some sleds need to be saved so the younger gens know where it all started from.

Looks like the guy that asked the question about a sled in the crate was less than honest.  I never got a reply.
