well the old discussion premix or oil pump. which works better. if you premix you KNOW the oil is there and how reliable is the pump? what do the guys that premix use for oil and at what ratio?
-
without the oil pump you KNOW there is no oil getting to the center crank bearing...
i have yet to hear anybody who owns a kawi say their oil pump failed...
-
damn i forgot about that bearing. thanks
-
in all seriousness though,,, kawi oil pumps are damn near bullet proof...
if the plunger wears out,,, it'd most likely dump too much oil into the motor... only real way it could starve the motor is if the gear or keyway broke,,, the oil line is pinched or leaking,,, or if you run it out of oil...
plus it saves on oil & plugs since it meters the output to throttle position

At idle it is around 40:1. at full throttle it is more like 100:1 and in between, it varies.
Use the oil pump.

I thought it was 100:1 at idle and 40:1 at full throttle? Jim at 12:06 maybe it's time for bed. ;). Just kiddin'

probably right on both counts
