Title: picked up my 2nd kawasaki today, a 1979 440 drifter

just got another barn find 440 drifter 1979 sled, its all there except a key if anybody has a extra one?  bad thing is wont have time to work on it till summer to busy working on my first kaw  a 340 F/A 1980 drifter, been a cat man all my life and something starting to happen here, maybe its the old school engine,  a kawasaki engine were in cats  lol

 Unfortunately not any Kawasaki key will fit. There are several different keys. Eack key is numbered. I have 5 Kawasaki sleds and each use a different key. There should be a number on the switch (ie 24) you would have to find the key with the same number.

thanks lloyd for the info, didnt know that, will have to look maybe its just easier to buy a new ign. instead, whats the odds of getting just a key off e-bay

 More likely to find a whole ignition switch on E-bay than find the correct key for your switch

Look at what number you ignition is i might have a key for you

The ignitions are actually still made and sold through kimpex here in Canada.. I assume you can find a new one easily... I replaced mine this year due to the position being worn out for the lighting... I was impressed the unit was just like original
