79 intruder question
« on: November 25, 2013, 02:17:21 PM »
I am making a 79 intruder into a vintage oval race sled (stock class) When I bought it the air box was gone and replaced by two foam filters...air boxes seem hard to come by.  After research I see that they will run lean without it.  Besides finding an air box what are my options?

Find yourself some "non econojet" Mikuni's...  Pretty common.  You can run k & n or uni filters w/the "standard" mikuni roundslides.  Just bump the mains up a size or two.  I'd use a set of 34 mm carbs.  Standard was 32mm.
