Title: Running a 1980 Drifter 340 with small air filter
Post by: ChaChi on October 27, 2012, 10:52:10 AM
Hey guys

I was hoping one of the guru's could help me, I've recently rebuilt the ol drifter and my airbox is a bit of a mess, with repaired cracks and it doesn't seal around the carb the best anymore... I have a uni filter sitting here off a old dirtbike I sold that fits perfectly... I am not sure of the current jet size, but could anyone offer me any assistance on what I should run with the filter?

Thanks for any reply!

The air box also keeps snow and frost from accumulating around the air intake, You will want to use one of those snow chargers, looks like a sock over the filter,

I believe the average is to go up 2 jet sizes and make a run, pull the plugs and go by the plug color, It could take a few runs and jets to get it right.
