Spark Plug Question
« on: October 26, 2012, 10:24:21 AM »
The manual says to use BR-9EV for the 79 440 Intruder. Most places I see on the internet have it listed to use BR-9ES.
My local Honda dealer is going out of business and I can pick up B-9EV for about 1.00 each. Is there a special purpose for the resistor on the BR-9EV? Would the B-9EV work?

Thanks in advance!

resistors in plugs are to reduce radio interference,  they will be fine on your sleds.  non resistor plugs mess with car computers, gps, radios and stuff like that.

You don't want to use resistor plugs with spark plug wires that have the resistors built into the plug caps. They can end up fighting each other.

The BR9EV plugs have a smaller diameter center electrode which makes them burn a bit hotter and start the sled easier, resists fouling a bit more, etc.  They are usually more expensive and extremely tough to find. at $1 each, buy them all.
