Good morning. I am checking to see if anyone knows a source for new Intruder/Invader external ignition coils?
The coil on our pink sled was dead and I have gone searching through my usual sources and am either coming up with no listing or no stock.
Are others seeing this same thing?

Like many things during this pandemic they seem to be non existent.
There are some options
I know of a few that have successfully used a Polaris Indy CDI/Coil unit on these engines.

I have a Polaris cdi that I will be installing on my Invader. A reputable engine builder recommended it for a better timing curve. It requires moving the stock stator plate significantly.

It will be interesting to hear how that works out.

A Polaris CDI unit gives a similar timing curve to a 82-84 Liquifire or a 4/6.

He built a standard Invader motor with Polaris CDI, custom heads, porting, and 4/6 pipes that ran mid 80s HP on the dyno with a nice broad power curve.

Yeah, should be similar to the Liquifire, but the 4/6 uses an older cdi similar to the old arctic cat. Many swap them out for Invader heads and ignition for an improvement.

I now have an external ignition coil on "backorder." I am told that delivery will be in March. We will see how that works out.

I'm sure I have a good used coil if you need one.

I think some of the 2 stroke Kawasaki motorcycles used these coils to
