Title: My Drifter 440
Post by: sslater on December 08, 2015, 03:03:00 PM
I'm the current owner of a 1981 Kawasaki Drifter 440. It was more or less passed down to me from my father due to it never getting used. It sits with about 5200 miles and runs strong. This sled does have oil injection! There's a lot of work I need to do including: seat replacement/repair, new fuel tank, and simple repairs/rebuilds. Any guidance on finding best place to find parts would be much appreciated

Welcome to KawiTrax!!  It's a very good resource!!  I'm just completing my 2nd 340 Drifter restoration so I have a lot of links for parts that I've bought in the last two years.  I bought an original shop manual and parts list on Ebay to start with.  There are a lot of parts on Ebay however some re-manufactured parts like belts and fuel hoses can be bought from other companies.  Here is a link for a very good quality seat cover I used on my 1st restoration.  I bought one on Ebay for my 2nd sled for $100 and it wasn't as good of quality.

This website is a great source for parts too.  I have found and sold countless parts through the classifieds section in this forum.  Welcome to the site!
