Some pictures of the 9500.
I know...not particularly what gets us Kawi guys fired up.
But, I'm still finishing up a few details on the Invader in the garage. No great hurry with no snow.
The Invader looks as nice as this 9500....pictures will follow before long.
Unlike my Kawasaki that I have owned since 1982, I got this SkiDoo very cheap late in 2014.
I had to tear it apart from end to end (yes, new CRANK SEALS!) to make sure all of the dozens of things that need to be checked over are in good shape and ready to go.
This is a1982 Blizzard 9500....the yellow area of the hood should be black, with full length yellow decals on the side of the hood....Tory has a picture of one he owned on his web site.....but this hood looks brand new.
I suspect this sled suffered a front end collision sometime in the past.
The steel bellypan, which were notorious for rusting, looks brand new. The aluminum bumper and the twin pipes look new. It has a Kimpex Aggressor track...which looks like it has only a couple hundred miles on it. Someone spent a pile of money, and then never rode it very much.
This sled was nearly this nice, and running, when I got it....but I had to tear it apart and do some detailing to get it "just right". A fair bit of cleaning, shining, painting the skis, pipes, coolant tank, etc.
I got it out the other day on a mere dusting of snow to see how it acted, and make sure nothing fell off.
I'm not sure whether to paint the hood black. The proper decals are available for about 75 bucks from "Doodecals"....my youngest son and I were discussing it a couple weeks ago in the garage, and he said "Boy, it would be a shame to start wet sanding that hood".....I think I agree...it looks good as is.
Thanks for your patience, Ktraxters.
I will get some pics of the Invader soon.
