The owner of Universal Repair in West Fargo, ND died. His daughter is selling it. This is a quote from a member on another sled site...
Here is what I know. most all of the "good" stuff was moved prior to this "fire sale." the semi trailers of complete engines, 1000+ NOS pistons, trailers of sleds from the yard, and crates of parts, were not included in the liquidation sale. those parts will be for sale by Extreme Motorsports just south of Moorhead, MN.
http://www.extrememotorsportsonline.com/Extreme got a deal done to salvage the parts/sleds on Sunday night, December 6th, with the closing date on the property being the 15th(today). Anything they wanted had to be removed. They took a couple days to move the main stuff they were keeping and offered the rest they didn't have room for to the public in the "fire sale" for pretty fair prices IMO. for the most part it was 3-4 guys doing all the work 7am-9pm everyday and it was a muddy mess with the warm temps. Most sleds/chassis/parts were $20-100. I think I bought 11 or 12 sleds/chassis in various conditions out of the yard, 6-8 tracks, 13-14 Arctic seats (1976-1995) without any rips, 5-6 uncracked 70s Cat hoods and probably a half truck box load of various stuff for probably $600 bucks total. and I loved every minute of it.
sad to see the business gone, but glad much of the stuff was salvaged. Extreme had tried to get a deal done months ago with Darvis' daughter, but she wasn't playing ball until the property sold, which gave them a very limited time to try move a ton of stuff. I think they did about the best they could given the timing of everything. I am not affiliated with Extreme, just a vintage sled guy that lives in West Fargo.
