Rebuilding the recoil on my 79 invader where does this spring go??
-
Not sure if I am going to state this clearly, but here goes. The straight pin goes into a hole between the two halves that make up the rope shive. In your picture I think the hole is at 6 PM. The crooked end threads up through the slot in the plate that covers the ratchet pawls.

8).....what Mark said.

I took pictures of the process during one of my recoil repair efforts. Maybe this helps provide a picture to what mswyka was trying to describe, eh.
I got other pics to share that would be helpful, but I'll be darned if can find 'em.

oops, I forgot to also tell you, the second nylon washer sets on top of the pawl springs, but the coil spring tab end sets on top of the nylon washer. In other words, make sure the end of the spring that pokes through the cover is resting on top of the top nylon washer. The washers make a sandwhich over the pawl springs.
...doggone I can't find those pictures...It is much easier with pics, eh.
