Title: Invader Crank Case Spec
Post by: Winter Thunder on January 15, 2014, 10:06:52 PM
Anyone know the torque specs on the crankcase bolts on an 81 Invader and/or have a picture they could post of the bolt tightening pattern?  Just put in new crank seals and need to clamp it back together.

For the stock Invader the manual says "16 ft-lb in 1/3 increments in criss-cross pattern."  And while I am reluctant to argue with Kawasaki engineers, I don't think that 16 ft-lb is enough and take mine up to 20 ft-lbs.  The LTD may be different, I don't have that manual handy at the moment.

I've done the 16 ft-lbs on all my sleds and have never had a problem.
