Title: Where do the spare parts go?
Post by: mswyka on December 17, 2016, 07:13:31 AM
We had the 78 Intruder in the shop last night to track down a fuel leak.  Once again it became apparent that we had fallen victim to fuel lines softened by modern fuel.  But in the process the left ski looked sloppy and sure enough when we pulled the spindle there was no bottom spindle bushing.  Searching all through the shop we couldn't find one spare spindle bushing.  Looks like we have to make a trip to the machine shed today and see what we can find down there.

Thank goodness for spare sleds.  We are now back in business.

Hey Mark,

If you still happen to have one of those bushings handy (i.e. not installed), could you provide the dimensions (I.D., O.D. length and flange diameter and thickness? I was going to see if I could find another source for them. Thanks.

Good question.  I  don't think I have any loose ones in the garage.  I would  need to go knock another  one out of a parts frame.
