Ltd gt?

Picked  up a sled today its a 82 Ltd 440 and it has stock decals on the side that say GT....does anybody know if they even made gt? We have 2 other ltd sleds and they dont have the same decals

It looks exactly like a normal one. What is weird is that there is no serial numbers on the tunnel. But the decal on the tunnel instead of 440 it is GT I read on a website somewhere that the 83 Ltd was going to be the same but different decals. And to be called an Invader GT. Is it possible that it is an 83 prototype?  I will post pics tomarrow.

If the tunnel was replaced at the dealership, it may not have been stamped with the serial number.

Stickers or decals are pretty easy to add or replace too. I had a 71 Scorpion with hood decals from a 72, I thought they looked better when I replaced the hood that got damaged.

I was told the 83 were to have IFS, and longer travel in the rear suspension, but anything is possible.

Here's what I got from Rude Dog several years back:

Interceptor: Would have had slide rail lubricators & minor decal changes but still would have been black.
LTD: would have returned in an updated version and was to be called the Invader GT.
Drifter 340 & 440: were to return mechanically unchanged and the color was to be a deep red.
