I am cleaning and rebuilding the clutch on my 79 Invader, and have two clutch springs, a black one and a yellow one. What is the difference in these, as far as engagement speed, top end speed, etc.

The yellow is stock for Invaders. The black spring was used in the 80 4/6 LTD and is a little stiffer. It will result in a slightly higher engagement RPM. It will also cause your Invader to over-rev unless you add some weights to your ramps.
