A batch of suspension shafts going to a good home soon.  I put grease groves in the pivot shafts.

I am interested in how the new owner feels about the grease groves.

So the title of this thread is "First Outing for the Season".  I am thinking that today's post could be titled "Last Outing for the 2023-2024 season.

The snow was amazing and while the lake was mostly liquid and limited our ability to move around, the riding we found was very good riding.  And like they say about a bad day of snowmobiling....

If its the fuel pump it seems like they should work no mater how they are mounted.

That is what I am thinking.  Just curious if anyone has had experience installing them at different angles.

Good afternoon.

I am installing a new pump in a sled and am wondering if the pump must be installed level?

Does anyone know of a reason that pumps must be level?  Or, is it possible for me to mount the pump on an angle and still have it operate properly?

Appreciate if anyone has any experience with mounting pumps askew.

The gear on the crank should be tight to the crank.  If the one you have spins likey you will need a new gear.  I should have one if you need it.

One more question about the oil pump gear on the crankshaft. Is this gear supposed to be press fitted to the crankshaft? For how loose this gear is (spins freely) I can't see how this would drive the oil pump.

Thanks in advance.

Some of them I could hammer out, but not this one…. I put it in the 20 ton press and pushed on it until it started to flex into an S shape.  I even tried a sledgehammer.  Acid is the only option for this one.

I read that the acid can be neutralized with baking soda, so that’s what I did…Even though I’m not sure the weeds will grow in my driveway either…
