Hello all,
New to this site, and have been doing some reading on here. What a helpful bunch!! I bought an '81 Intruder, and with the help of the article "Crank seals for Dummies" I got this baby running!! A big thanks to the author.
So now, when this 440 is cold, she's spitting back thought the flywheel side carb, and exhaust. When warm, she's making a rapid pinging sound, like when your fingertips accidentally get too close to the fan blades on the old 318's.
The flywheel side crank seal was destroyed, HUGE leak there. Could that have caused and issue with the Mikuni carb?
Thanks in advance

Yup, the stator is in the EXACT same spot where it was when I took it off. (Plus or minus 0.001") ;)

If you didn't see any signs of the motor being apart before, I wouldn't worry about it. But nothing in life is 100% certain. ;)
