So I found a invader 340 for $450 it doesn’t run but has spark and good compression it looks dusty but it’s in a garage. I don’t know i should buy it will also be my first vintage sled if I do buy it. Thoughts?

Good morning and welcome.
Posing the question of whether or not to buy a Kawasaki sled to a Kawasaki sled forum sounds like it might be rhetorical.
From what you describe the sled sounds well worth the investment. But don't be overly optimistic. Good spark and good compression do not mean that you won't have your work cut out for you. Probably everyone on this forum will say something to the effect of "if you don't know the full history of the sled that you will need to pull it apart, check everything and replace critical components like crank seals and carb boots."
Sounds like a great find. Good luck and feel free to bring your questions to the forum. And, if you need a manual, send me a PM.

Welcome to the site!! There will numbers stamped on the right foot area of the tunnel, that will help figure out what year it is. Price should reflect the cosmetic condition as things like a really nice dash can be a bit hard to find. Sit on the seat and see if the suspension is moving down and up. If you could get some pictures?? The members here will be glad to help you get it going. :)

Thanks interceptor398, I’m also looking at a intruder 440f I think that’s what is it’s one or the other and fan cooleds in my book are easier to work on but here’s the listing https://vermont.craigslist.org/snw/d/milton-1977-kawasaki-invader-340/7195418383.html
I don’t think it’s the one as the person doesn’t show any pictures of the back. Thanks for the help both of you.

Both sleds look to be work a look at in person. Yes, fan cooled is a bit simpler to work on.
