Title: Where there's a will there's a way...
Post by: Tory944 on August 16, 2015, 06:59:24 AM
Almost finished my "man cave" upstairs in the barn.  Got myself an electric winch, so no more had cranking. First sled of 20 or so...   Lol :o

When select sleds come back out in the winter...  this could make the next Kawasaki commercial!  Even better than the Invader flying out of a semi.  I got the height covered, just don't know if I've got the balls (or the back) to survive the landing!  Lol :P

Back in 2000 I spent a week snowmobiling West Yellowstone.  One of the sled rental places used the upstairs of a barn with about the same ramp angle.  They drove the sleds in and out but looked like they had plenty of practice at it.

Well, I am going to have plenty of practice!  Now, I just need to keep my kids from playing on it!  Although it would be a cool winter slide...  the angle at the bottom would surely hurt the "bottom".

The ramp is about 16 ft...  our property line is about three feet from the beginning of the ramp.  I wasn't going to take a chance with the neighbors as this ramp will prob be here until I am dead.  Lol ;)

Reminds me of a friend who built an elevator to get his ultralite airplane into an underground garage.  It is good to have a garage/barn to work in - whether ground level or second floor.  From what I hear, the snow is so deep in Maine that you won't need the ramp when they come out this winter.

So it looks like I can get 16 upstairs.  That is until I get the barn "eaves" finished...  then I should be able to get at least eight more.   :o
