HI, need alittle advice on my 1979 invader idle issue. It starts fine on the second pull, then idles to 3000 rpm but then when I go to run ride it it will go down to about 2000 rpm. At one point when I hit the brake to stop it just stalled on me, but started back up and it only engages at around 5000 rpm when it should be 3900 rpm. When I got it last year it was only idleing at 2000 rpm. I adjusted the idle screws to bring it up to the 3000 rpm, need some help on the issue. Could it be the timing? Thanks for any help Doug

imo as it idles down it "falls off" the timing curve of the cd box....maybe set the idle a shade higher....and the clutch needs a cleaning

Agree with Kawhead... and make sure your throttle slides pull "evenly". You want them to start their movement at the same time. You can adjust this by loosening the cable adjusting nut on the top of the carburetor and threading the stud up or down to match the other carburetor. This will insure you have the carbs in sync before you increase the idle.

Thanks guys for the info, I thought that is what it might be, because both of my cables to the carbs need to be replaced. They are both taped up. got some new ones to install.
