Just curious to see how you guys get your sliders off the rails. Is there any tricks to doing it
-
Remove the screw at the front and use a hamer and chissel to drive it out the lined up window at the rear. They can be a little stubborn sometimes.
-
I already removed the screw upfront. But boy is it hard to get the slider off, i used a flathead screw driver and hit it and wouldn't budge.

I have used a air hammer on the real stubborn ones

If i only had an air compressor! :(

a slide hammer works well and if not that vice grips and hammer should do ,never had to change them on one of mine that were on a running sled knock on wood :)
-
I also have beaten them out with a rubber mallet

Just remember heat is ur friend! Anyway you can warm those up it's bound to make them come off and go on easier!

Soak it down good with WD40 and use the hammer and chisel.

I got the sliders off now. I cut them in pieces and spread them apart, and hit them with a block off wood.

I always pull the rear skid when I need to do them. Usually some more maintenance that needs to be done under there anyway, and a good inspection of the arms for cracks too.
