Title: Oil Sight Line
Post by: greeno on March 03, 2015, 07:45:35 AM
Gents:

Anyone have a photo of the proper way to route the oil sight line on an Intruder?  I had a bit of an "issue" at Waconia and can't figure out where to route the oil sight line without being dangerously close to the brake disc.

Does this help? I have an Intruder at home I can look tonight and see how mine is routed too.

Not really Gilson, but thanks anyways.  A photo would help a ton.

I didn't get time last night to get out to the shop. I'll try to get out there tonight to get a pic.

No problem.  I'm looking at the lower part; i had run it near the disc brake and after a few miles...ooops!  Can't figure out where else to put it without kinking it or putting a trap in it.

I snapped a pic of the bottom of the oil tank on my Intruder. You can see the oil sight line fitting is pointed straight back and the line goes straight back to the console. Looks like about an inch clearance between line and brake disk. Hope this helps!! Good luck 8)

Perfect, thanks man!

My problem is twofold: oil fitting pointing towards disc and line too long.
