So, I guess I need to edumacate myself :D
How many fellow Interceptor owners have a chassis vin that matches their engine vin?
Lol... I will share my findings as soon as I get a few responses! :P Thanks! Tory

I might be wrong...but i doubt that ''anyone'' has a matching body/engine serial number....
At best, maybe the first few sleds that were built......
Can't wait to read from the rest of us and see....

Never seen a matched set but wondered if it happened. Even thought about tracking down the correct set.

I just spoke with the gentleman in PA with the Interceptor. Someone called him and asked if the vin # on the tunnel matched the one on the engine. Number didn't match and the potential seller never called him back. I think whoever is looking for matching numbers sled/engine is gonna be lookin' a LONG time! None of the Interceptors I have match their engines!!
I'd be more concerned with making sure the engine is a 530 and not a 440! These are the engine #'s I have...

608 (Gee... this one must be rare! lol. Only 600 Interceptors!) :o

I looked through the registry and I have two engines that match someone else chassis vin. Michigan550 in MI has my chassis and someone in British Columbia! lol.
Kinda cool to match one up, but not likely it would ever happen. Trade a case for a case?? Hmmmmm.

#398 has #94. I also have 571 and 584 which one of them will go in #415 and one in an electric start 81 LTD. At least that's the plan.
-
Ha ha... sleeper LTD. Nice! :P
Nice when you have a plan, even if the plan never happens! lol.

It's been a real challenge to work on my own stuff the last few years but a pay check is a beautiful thing so keep working on keeping customers happy. I hate to hope to run out of work, at least for a few more years!

Hello. I got Ceptor#071 With Motor#451 and a spare Motor#590 would possible trade with one of those cases for #071 Case.

Hey SRX 500... I'll keep you posted if I find your number! I am getting another engine this fall, so I'll check that one! Tory 8)

Hello all I have #519 with motor #603 in it. Joel

So we know that Kawasaki made at least eight extra engines beyond the 600 production sleds. You've got engine 603 and I've got 608. IMO this is turning out to be a pretty interesting post! Assuming Kawasaki didn't "skip" any engine numbers from 1-600 in their Interceptor production... we might get an idea of how many extra cases they stamped with a serial number. Interesting.
Maybe I am the only one who cares about production trivia, but you can be sure KawiTrax will no more than anyone else if we keep posting serial numbers! ;D

#553 that I recently sold to a collector in Canada came with an LTD bottom end in it. I'll take a look at #366's case later this week and report back.

Thanks! ;)

Thanks. Tory.
Great thread to find the matching number to our Sleds. I have two vintage Yamaha Sleds that got matching numbers. Seems that Yamaha was taking serious about fit the Sled prefix with the same Motor prefix.

Engine #607 is in sled #378 here in Rice Lake, WI. Currently restoring the sled.
