My 4/6 motor has the individual heads on it, and I came across a 1 piece head for both heads. Can this swap over and are there any benefits to the one piece head over the two piece?
-
The 1 piece head (mono-head) has better coolant flow than the single cylinder heads. I would think they are probably not interchangeable as the cylinders may not have the cooling ports line up, but that is a guess. I also doubt the gaskets would line up either.

No. They are complete different designs and are not compatible. The two piece heads have 8 holes for head studs, and the mono-head only has 6 (per cylinder).

Okay, so since mine has individual heads is it still have the 4 to 6 ports or is it just considered a LTD motor? Im guessing mine is the earlier version of the motor?

The 4/6 motor is based on the standard Invader motor. It has extra transfer ports in the cylinders and 2 spark plugs in each individual head. The 81-82 LTD motor is completely different design that is shared with the Interceptors.
From my experience, the 4/6 setup is the most sought after of all the older Invader design motors. And the Interceptor setup is the most sought after of the newer mono-head design.
