Title: Track shaft question
Post by: hj1515 on January 24, 2016, 07:46:05 PM
I have a 1980 Invader 340 and the track is pretty shot. Its original... I know Kawi had their own sprocket size and thus a Specific track. Can you change the sprockets to accept a more common size track? Or is there a shaft from another type of sled that is interchangeable ?

Thanks! Any help would be appreciated

I am pretty sure that the tracks are fairly standard.  121" x 15" with a 2.52" pitch.

I put a new Camoplast Hacksaw track on my 81 Invader.  It is a 121x15x2.52 with a 1" lug.  By far the best improvement I have done to a Kawasaki.  At least for the type of riding that I like to do...  The newer track had more internal drive nubs than the stock Kawasaki track.  The extra nubs on the track interfered with the idler wheels on the drive axle and some of the idler wheels on the rear skid.  I had to add some spacers to preposition the idlers.  This was the only modification needed.
