Title: Heat exchanger sealant
Post by: gixxer6 on December 11, 2012, 07:18:15 AM
#553 sprung a leak last spring.  Antifreeze was leaking from the heat exchanger under the seat.  I am finally getting around to fixing it.  I took the top cover off, the o-ring looks nice for a 30 year old o-ring.

What type of sealant should I use when putting it back together?  Will gerneral purpose silicone work?

I would think any good rtv silicone would work, just don't use to much, and let it dry before you add coolant.
