Hello, everyone, John Prusak here from Snow Goer magazine -- an occasional lurker on your site! I'm looking for a good photo for an upcoming issue, and figured this would be the place to find it...
In our November issue (it says November on the cover but it mails in September -- damn magazine industry!) we have a Flashback/Timeline feature scheduled that was written by David Wells on the 1980 Kawasaki Invader LTD. I have some photos from the review we had in the September 1979 issue of Snow Goer that could work to illustrate the story, but we do like to occasionally recognize the sled collector and restoring crowd if they have a cool image available.
So, do any of you have a 80 LTD, and good photos of it? If so, drop me a note at jprusak@snowgoer.com. Thanks for your consideration.

Welcome to the site!! I know I have a few pics but need to dig them out.

Welcome John! I look forward to reading the article 8) Sorry, I don't have a pic of an LTD but when you get to reviewing the 1980 Intruder look me up ;D ;)

This is all I got now;

1st picture is a 4/6 bulkhead with the twin plug 4/6 motor sitting in it.

was there not one in green in the kawasaki brochure that came out ? most look black as the green metal flake doesnt make it look to green

80 LTD4/6 and the 80 LTD were green. Most of them have faded enough that they look dark in pictures if the lighting is not good.

I have yet to see a better picture than this. But then again, I'm biased as its mine. 8)
I enjoyed this rocket as new during winter 1980-81, 81/82. Great lake runner, jumper, and trail screamer.

Very nice!!! ;D

Does anyone know if this article was ever written and published?

Yes, I believe it was in the 1st issue ( Aug?) of Snow Goer.
A nice 2 page article with some pictures.
It was not entirely complimentary....it mentioned that the LTD was somewhat confused as to whether it was trying to be the ultimate luxury sled, or a very performance oriented model.
And, a common complaint during the Snow Goer testing back in the day was heavy steering....(too much ski pressure?? ???).
But, a good article...mentioning some of the innovations of the sled.

Ooops....actually it was in the November, 2016 issue of Snow Goer....the issue where they name the 2017 Ski Doo MX Z X the "Snowmobile of the year".
