I am looking for some good suggestions how to re-attach this bracket so that it will function and be adequately strong.
This if from the left front of a 4/6 chassis. The rest of the chassis seems to be in reasonably good shape. I am not sure why this one was not attached, but there is evidence that it had been previously welded, so apparently it had been a problem for a while.
As always I appreciate thoughts and suggestions.

They seem to be a weak spot on the 4/6's. I have seen more than one that was welded or broke.
I'll have a look today at some.

I have had to reweld a couple of mine.

Just curious....I don't see anything that corresponds to this bracket on my Invader.
Was this something different on the LTD's?
I have always "assumed" the Invader/Intruder bulkheads and the LTD's were similar??

later models, including the 550 used the round bumper brace verses the square one
-
Do the complete brackets exist somewhere as spare parts?
-
yeah,that parts sled out back...
-
I was afraid of that

That is one area to look close at when considering adding another member to the herd.

I've got a couple 4/6 chassis with that style bracket. If you need any parts?

Tom, thank you for the offer. We have an 82 Intruder with two good brackets but I am not sure that I am quite ready to butcher that bulkhead. We will probably try welding it first. I will let you know.
