Title: Camoplast track on 550
Post by: BornagianKawi on November 05, 2017, 02:32:50 PM
Going to install a Camoplast track, Durasport, #9796t on a 550, question is, on adjuster wheels on the suspension in back, could I run 3, two outside, 1 in the middle, or 4 and adjust accordingly with spacers? What"s the recommendation?

Three would roll a little easier but 4 would be more stable but sounds like a "I do have the parts for this"  kind of job.

Oh, yes all parts are here. I did one before with 3 wheels, but only has 4 miles on it.

That track should grab pretty good!

Is that a 1" or 3/4"?

Does that track just fit right on the 550 without any modifications or special adjustments ?

lug depth is .725. Yes, what little I drove the other one around, it"s like shut up and hang on. Maybe make Duluth ski hill ? Yes, mods on drives, I took a drive out of 340 Invader, drives fit perfect, located on shaft in right spot. 4.75 spread from center of drives. Two outside idler wheels, moved to outside of lugs, used 2 collar assy. to hold in place. Left pipe spacer between drives. Suspension will have to move idler wheels to run by lugs not on lugs.
