Another question for you guys? I’ve called a couple snowmobile salvage yards looking for heads. What heads will work. 440-2a and the guy also said he had a 440-2c? Head. Thanks for any help.

Last night I was kicking around in the machine shed and pulled out a pair of 2C heads. They have a bigger chamber than the 2A heads and I believe that this particular pair came from a John Deere Liquifire engine. If you are building an Invader it may be better to keep looking for the 2A. What is the problem with the head that you have?

Don't tell anyone else, but I actually run gouged heads. A little wire wheel and sand paper and they seem to run quite well.

good to know! thanks for the reply.

A few dings in the heads will not matter and they are good for shaving the heads as you are not messing with a stock head. I may have an extra.
