My Mad Kaw Disease had ANOTHER flareup last night... I picked up my 3rd 80' 4/6 LTD. Well, kinda my 3rd, the second one I picked up last year was in rough shape so I stripped it down to use for doner parts. The newest one was the closest, only 15 minutes from my house! Its a basket case, but has potential. I'm hoping to make 2 nice sleds from the 3.
Its getting bad! I have:
2 - Interceptors (one needs assembled)
2 - 440 Invaders 79' & 81'
1 - 340 79' Invader
1 - Green chassis Invader that needs assembled
1 - 78' Intruder
2 - 80' 4/6 LTD's
That's nine Kawi's, NINE! That isn't including the 4 or 5 bare chassis that I have accumulated from sleds that I have stripped for parts...
So who's the sickest? How many Kawi's do you own?
-
Well, I'm sure that I'm not the sickest (My wife would disagree, she put me on the no new projects restriction :o). But the the bug has hit me hard this year. 1 79 Drifter 440 have had this sled since 1987. 1 1981 Ltd.,2 1982 Ltd's, and alway's lookin' for more parts. ;D 8) :o Joel

At the peak of my sickness i had 23 kawis at one time
-
Trucker can you list them all yet./

Probably but i do know there was 2 interceptors 4 LTDs one with a 550 topend. 3 intruders 2 drifters and the rest were varies years of 340 and 440 invaders

1981 LTD and 1979 Drifter 340
If it wasn't for the sickness, Kawasaki snowmobiles would long be dead and gone!
This group is all the holds the dream together! lol

you are in good company..

i just got 2, had to put a kawi engine in a polaris....and i feel the sickness creeping
i like the look of those scarlet sleds....
-
Yeah, the funny thing is, I never saw any until I got one. Now I see them all over the place, same with my 1980 4/6.

My sickness started festering when I was a kid and saw my first Kawi in that Omen movie! This fall it seemed to have picked up steam when I saw the 79 Intruder sitting along the road.
Now I have
1978 340 Invader- Parts
1980 440 Intruder- Parts
1981 440 Invader- Parts
1979 440 Intruder
1980 440 Invader
And 2 1976 340 Liquifires cause I got a deal! :)
-

added another kawi to the collection today, picked up MisterTwister's parts invader. It is a '78 invader 440, an early one too, made in June '77, number six hundred somethin. I had to get it, he lives 2 blocks from me and the price was right. Only need a few more parts and some paint to get her goin'. Up to 3 kawi's and one frankenstein.
-
Lets see,
78 Invader 440
79 Invader 440
80 4/6
81 LTD
a 74 El Tigre w/ a 440 Invader motor (not sure if that counts)
and Truckers #61 Interceptor
And dont get me started on my TXL's and El Tigre's...

Picked up yet another Kawi last night. A running (barely) 78' 440 Invader. It's rough, definitely not worth saving, but will make a good parts sled. This is my first 78' Invader. I've been looking for a decent lightweight 78' hood for my green mod Invader project. I finally found one!
This is number 10 for me :/

In the last month I have aquired 2 nice and running 80 LTD 4/6's, One 80 LTD 4/6 for parts
With the first two LTD's came what was suposed to be an Invader chassis for parts. It has a great hood, track and a motor with spark and compression. just needs suspension tweaked abit , a seat cover and a windshield.
-
Starting to collect as well... I bought 3 in the past month...plus a new Arctic Cat for my regular trail sled at over $12k!
Thank god my wife buys that I keep trading one for the other! Lol
1980 Invader 340- grew up on this sled..owned since 1981
1979 Invader 440
2 4/6 LTD
And possibly in the process of purchasing 2 1982 LTD - a good 82 LTD and 1 that needs a motor
I looked at an Interceptor also but no motor so I think I will be out of luck on that one!
Man I really want one of those!!
