Title: Invader out of summer storage
Post by: mswyka on October 07, 2025, 06:54:16 AM
We have a great program here in town.  The Town has an unused, enclosed pavillion at the park that is used for both winter and summer storage.  The jetskis live there over the winter and this past summer, for the first time, the snowmobiles lived there.  This past weekend we made the swap and now have the first Invader back home so that it can be tuned up for the season.  It was a little sluggish at the end of last season and, ever since I found alcohol fuel caviar in one of our Intruder carbs, I am suspicious that some messy fuel residue/gunk/build up in the carbs was causing our issues.  Hope to have that sorted out soon.  But, as life would have it, we find ourselves in the process of moving and business at the new house is taking up much of my available time.

There is a lot of space in there.

There is a lot of space in there.
And by the end of October it will be completely full!

Carbs have come off.  They appear to be clean.  Plan to swap in a fresh set just to be on the safe side.  I am also questioning my primer.  There are spares around here somewhere.  Just need to figure out which box they are in.

Primers are a week spot.

Primers are a week spot.

Over the weekend I put in a new fuel pump and a fresh set of carbs.  It fired right up and idled nicely.  After checking a few more things I found my primer line broken and disconnected.  I have to believe that it was connected to get it started.  But  need to replace the line to be save.   Any good ideas to replace the lines to the primer without taking the tank off?
