Title: speedway snowmobile hoods
Post by: gavinvader on January 24, 2013, 07:01:33 AM
As i was scrounging around in my father in law's farm buildings i came across 3 old speedway snowmobile hoods.  One is a 340, one is a 440 and the other is a blue max 440.  The blue max one is in really bad shape but the other 2 after a mild cleaning look very good.  I was wondering if anyone had any idea what these are worth?  I actually found someone fairly close to me that is interested.

No idea what they would be worth.  Wonder what happened to the rest of the sleds?

Go to vintagesleds and ask there. Someone over there would probably drive across the country for them.

Chuck Root is the person to talk to.  He goes by chuck4199 on both vintagesleds.com and vintagesledders.com.

You're going to have some guys beating down your door for that stuff. Better go look for the rest of the sleds!!

ahh speedway . great looking for its day for sure. went like snot turned like not. actually raced for a local dealer here in western ny. they would stay with anything on straights but even with ski (wideners) they would not turn too well. i always thought it had to do with rear suspension. often thought that if it had Cat style slider it would have been fantastic.
