Title: Rattle from the clutch??
Post by: jimvw57 on January 27, 2013, 10:09:26 PM
Riding the Intruder yesterday and a bit today, I heard a rattle from the clutch when I shut the motor off. It has  a comet clutch, which I don't know much about. Maybe it is time to swap it to a Kawi clutch. Got a few laying around.

Also I was getting nervous as my 4/6 started running faster at idle and it acted like it was flooded when it was hot and tried to start it. It was only 2 degrees out but still... maybe time for seals again??

Comets are pretty tough so drive it some more.  As for seals it can be a lot of things causing the fast idle.  Maybe just some adjustments?

could be, it is possible I got some nasty gas. I used some non-Ethanol stuff but it may have been sitting around too long. I did have the fuel line ice up a week ago.

as for the clutch, maybe it was a shield or something, I was more concerned about getting it on the trailer since it was raining, which then was freezing on everything. Nasty drive home in that stuff.
