Title: Headlight question?
Post by: Drifter on February 04, 2013, 09:51:43 AM
Hi everybody
Got my engine all back together and running smooth finally.  Had a flooding out issue that was resolved by recleaning carb (needle and seat especially but noticed floats don't slide real smooth on shafts either..lots of brake cleaner later seems ok).

I put in one of those fancy zenon blue lites at 100 watts  and it only worked for about a minute now headlight and tail lite and brake light don't work.  The little 340 is only good for about 120 watts per manual. I wonder if there is a fuse or circuit breaker or fuse able link in there somewhere?  The only preliminary check I did was ohm out the key switch.

Just wondering if anyone else tried a blue lite for there blue sleds?

Gonna drop the skid assy tonight and do maintenance while waiting for new sliders.

Will post pics soon...

Drifter :)

Yeah I will have to check that.  Hope my parts sled has one.  The wiring was badly butchered and the lites didn't work.
Has anyone drilled the pivot shafts in the skid assy and put in grease fittings?  I noticed there isn't any to be found under there.

I have drilled the cross shaft and added grease zerks, helps if you add a flat spot on the shaft to give the grease somewhere to go but you don't have to.

Thanks for the help guys.  Gonna get back at it tonight, picked up my sliders. Going to check bearings tonight.

I almost put a post on last night looking for the voltage regulator but I found it.  Tricky hiding spot.
