Green Invader just got back together and is now running quite well on the new rebuild. Replaced the bulb in the headlight and it worked great in the shop. After a little riding around I noticed it was not working, in fact none of the lights work now. Bulbs appear to be blown. From what I have read on here in other posts, I assume my voltage regulator isnt working and causing the bulbs to blow at high RPM. Is this a correct assumption?
I do not have a volt meter and would'nt know how to use it anyway. Electicity is pure magic to me.
I have another voltage regulator from a parts sled. My plan is to install it and replace the bulbs.

Yes you need to change the voltage regulator

basically all the regulator does is clip the voltage off to a voltage your bulbs can handle.... If you're blowing blubs you need to look at the regulator and if it's wired correctly replace it!

Grounding of the voltage regulator (VR) is huge. It is this grounding to the how voltage is dumped. Poor ground = blown bulbs.
While it is a claim the VR may be shot. Changing them sure reaffirms a good ground is reapplied. Clean the bolt/connection wire and where the bolt meets the ground.
Since you have your headlight bulb burnt most likely on low beam go for a good cleaning of the grounding and try to pop the high beam filament. Many times sleds that sit for a good duration pop the bulbs first time out of a barn.

Some one wire regulator ground using the bolt hole in the middle of the regulator! Totally agree with checkmarks
