I see on the service manual that my spark plugs should be BR-8ESA. I think that the R stands for resistor type plug.
I also see in the manual that my spark plug boot caps also have a resistor in them. Is there any truth to the fact that 2 resistors reduces spark strength.
This goes out to Lloyd, did it fix your rich idle problem?

It is better to have only one resistor but most sleds are running around with both resistor boots and plugs.
Nope it did not fix my rich idle problem

My first post wasn't that clear...does the extra resistance damage points and condensers etc.
Is there any cross reference for plugs without resistor?
Was the only point of resistors for tv and radio reception, both of which I don't have on my sled.

I beleive the resistors were mainly for TV and AM radio reception.
Some resistance is not going to hurt.
The R in the spark plug number stands for resistor no r non resistor eg BR9ES resistor B9ES no resistor
You've been watch the thread on JDsleds :)

Did my pm go through
