I put my motor back in my invader I bled all the air out of the oil lines hear is my problem all of the oil ran out of the tank and is all over my shop floor its not coming from the tank its somewhere in the pump what should be done replace the pump or keep it full of oil and run it
-
What part of the pump is it coming out of?
If it really is a leaky pump, I would replace it...
-
You get to pull the motor to change that pump.

I pulled the motor the leek seems to be on the water pump side how hard is it to change the pump
-
The motor does not need to be pulled to change the oil pump. I have changed several without pulling the motor.
I have had several pumps that have had the seal on the shaft that drives the pump leak. I searched for a replacement seal but could not find one. I ended up replaceing the pump (sometimes putting another used pump in only to find out it leaks too >:( ). Now, before I install a pump, I will fill it with oil on the bench and leave it for 24 hours to test for leaks. This saves the pain of putting one in only to find it leaks...
I don't recall anything special needed to pull the pump, just remove the bolts that holds it in place and it should come right off.

it looks like there is a shaft that goes to the water pump does the water pump need to be moved out of the for the oil pump to be removed
-
the oil pump has a gear bolted to it in the gearcase....engine removal required
-
does the water pump need to come off also
