After many years of driving these sleds I need to fix a clutch. To do that I need to take it completely apart but it is putting up a fight. The cover came off easy but the spider seems to want to stay right where it is. Any help would be good before I bust something. This is the 81 I had at Braapfest last year and The clutch went out of balance. I limped her back to the cabin and shut her off. Turned out a guide shoe had come apart. I do have a clutch off a 4/6 I could put on but I prefer a lower ingagement for my slow poke style of trail riding. I could change the weight but I wish to leave that clutch as is.

It put up a pretty good fight but it turned out to be plain old rust. This is my first chance to play with a sled since last March.

I put a little PB Blaster on the inside of the sleave and a little heat until the blaster started to bubble. Clamped it up in a vise and tapped on the webbing on the engine side of the clutch. It still protested a little but it came off. I have the steel parts in rust remover and will be re assembling it later.
