anybody that could help me find some pistons. I can't seem to find them anywhere for a 80 4/6. Does anybody know the oem part number? Any help would be great. Thanks

Piston # for the 4/6 is 13001-3011 and yes they are hard to come by. They are the same piston as 13001-3007 with the only difference being the pin location for the top ring. The gap ends up on the intake bridge. There are some who are using the 3007's and it seems to be OK. The ring end gap on the 4/6 is .008-.016 but the Invader is .008-.028.

I have a pair of the 3007's brand new in the box, no rings tho...

I see there is a NOS 4/6 piston/ring/gasket kit on eBay...

I'm just saying..
I was curious about using aftermarket pistons in a 4/6, So I grabbed a 4/6 jug and tried some aftermarket pistons. I tried three, I think they were all SPI pistons. Two of them would have worked and one the ring gaps would have been going over a port.
Based on that, some aftermarket pistons would work and some won't.
Just putting that out there.

Thanks for the info. Im trying different pistons today in the jug to see which ones work. I found some in eagle river that will work. The sled is clean with 1500 milies and want to keep it running for awhile. Got nos gaskets for the whole motor and going to split the case and regasket everything.

please let us know what you found that will work
