Title: Look at this Invader.
Post by: rminier on April 22, 2018, 06:34:04 AM
Look at this one....only an hour away from me.
Look at the cover! Nice original windshield! Those are worth half his asking price.
I think it may be a '79. The airbox looks perfect.....probably the original fuel lines.....wow.
I DON'T need another sled...I Don't....I don't... :-\
Tempting.... 8)

Personally I don't think you have a choice.  Once one has contracted Mad Kaw Disease there is no saying no to a $500 Invader.  This sled needs to be preserved.

Is that an original seat??  If so, when was the last time you saw one of those not all cracked up??

I've only seen two myself.  Someone needs to start a Kawasaki museum.  :D

Well, I couldn't take it any longer. I grabbed this Invader and brought it home today.
I am believing the 455 miles on the odometer. Look at the pics of the track and suspension. The track still has the little "nubbins" on it, and the track clips are still shiny.
The suspension still looks nearly new...even the original hyfax. The bottoms of the skiis look almost new....the original wear bars probably.
The passenger hand grips are broken, and the fuel tank filler neck has a small crack....no big surprise, but everything else is in amazing condition....and it runs, and runs fairly well.
But, like mswyka's recent post about crank seals, I will definitely replace these, along with checking out dozens of other things.
Amazing survivor.... 8) ;D

Yep, 398, it is the original seat.....it's amazing. I'm afraid to sit on it... ;) ::)
The tunnel decal on the left side is a little messed up from gas leaking out of the cracked threads, but there are good replacements available. I ordered tunnel decals for my other Invader some time back. I'll have to hunt up the place online and see if they're still available.
The seller got this about a year ago from an elderly farmer in his neighborhood. The farmer was clearing out his shop. Apparently it was a nice shop because the areas that normally show corrosion still look great.
The seller filled it with some fresh gas last winter when we actually got a little snow, got it to fire up, and he rode around in the fields near his house....lucky it didn't seize a piston.

Ahh, found the tunnel decals. These were great quality when I ordered the set for my other Invader.
Now I better quit messing around and get busy here at work.... :-\ :(
