Title: 79 Invader Oil Pump
Post by: David on October 12, 2018, 01:05:25 PM
I have a 79 invader 440. Starts first pull but oil and a little gas pouring out the exhaust. Rebuilt carbs, replaced carbs. Rebuilt fuel pump, replaced fuel pump all for the same sympton. Let it run 3 min. a pool of black oil on cement, more on mag side than pto. Adjustment issue or oil pump. Have been messing with for 2 yrs off and on.

Assistance Please
David

When you say more on Mag than PTO, are you running without the exhaust?

I have an Invader with a leaky banjo oil check valve.  It will SMOKE terribly for the first mile or so after sitting all summer.

Are the spark plugs fouling?
Running pre-mix with oil pump?
Is oil pump cable adjusted correctly? If set up wrong and running wide open all the time it could cause this.
If it has excess oil after setting awhile it's most likely leaky banjo's.
These are same as used on 86 Polaris Indy 400 part # 3083894
What kills a Banjo is someone poking a wire in them thinking they are plugged or using compressed air on them.
