Title: New seat cover for the 1980 Invader 440
Post by: mswyka on December 27, 2021, 11:19:56 AM
Accidentially on purpose bought too much vinyl when I asked my sister to cover the first seat.  Three seats later we are once again in pretty good shape.  This is a completely non standard seat.  It was the first Kawasaki that came into the shop - which unfortunately came without a seat.  So we cobbed  up a seat base from pressure treated plywood and added some sofa foam and a cover i sewed myself.  Can't complain too much since we got 18 years on the first vinyl.  Now just need some snow.  Hopefully heading north tomorrow.  It will be interesting to see what we find.

Maybe up north you will be entering the storehouses of the snow?

Certainly looking forward to as many opportunities as possible to see the storehouses :-)

What material did you use?  I recently got a sewing machine capable of sewing heavier material and am considering trying a seat.

We picked up some arctic vinyl from Joann's Fabrics.  I believe that it was rated with a cold crack of -40 or -50.
