Title: 1980 4/6 porting..How much will i gain?...is it worth it?
Post by: Paul John Vanderweerd on January 28, 2013, 03:04:26 PM
I am currently deciding whether or not I should do the Aaen trail porting on the 4/6 engine I am running in my sled. It needs to be re-plated since I have low compression. Currently running with 38mm carbs, and Aaen pipes. To port cylinders and machines head will cost about $500 I'm told. Anyone ported a 4/6?  What percent gain will I notice?

I would guess not much.. Kawasaki did their homework on the 4/6's and they go pretty darn good stock.

You won't get much more from the 4/6 jugs unless you want a full mod race motor, not a trail freindly sled.  You need to talk to Sprocket about the porting.
