New Guy
« on: October 25, 2014, 07:21:11 AM »
Hello Guys!

Well I just picked up a 79 invader 340....My first Kawi! I have a few Kawi powered Deeres and naturally gravitated toward Kawasaki due to the engine relationship! I may already know a few of you if some are Deere guys lol. Got the invader off craigslist for $250....really nice shape and starts on third pull and runs good! that is up onto the trailer...It has a few love marks here and there but overall I would say its a sharp looking trail rider. I'll see if I can figure out how to get a pic up. Funny story....I filled it with gas two days ago and added stabil and put it up on a stand. yesterday I started it up and ran it for a sec to show a buddy and then went to work. Came home last night and smelt fuel. Walked out to the garage and gals and gals of fuel on the floor under the sled...Noticed the fuel line cracked under pressure......So now shes gonna get all new line! Anyone know if the the tank to line grommets are still available I know they are for the Deeres, just concerned those are toast as well.

Luckily all i had to do was take the airbox out and replace the 1/4" gas line from the tank to the primer nipple and back to the pump. It was stiff brittle and cracked lol. Now this has the stock tall fuel pump im guessing but is the replacement pump for this the short df52-73?

Stay with the tall one and rebuild it, it is an anti siphon pump to prevent flooding.  Nice sled!

Yeah I replaced the tall one on the Liquifire with the short one because I heard rebuild kits were not available for the tall one anymore......

no problem getting the rebuild kits, just make sure the anti-siphon hole is on the gasket. - match all gaskets up as you replace them.  I have had to drill the missing hole on a few gasket sets. works just fine.
